Trophies

If you would like to contribute, the process will be to reserve/pledge a trophy via email and then mail payment within 10 days. Pledged trophies will be regularly updated. Trophy List below.

The Trophy Committee will be introducing a new trophy at the specialty this year. In the same spirit as our existing memorial trophies are offered in remembrance of Doren Zalis and Jane Brown, the new trophy will be offered in remembrance of a PON that has passed during the last year.

As you might expect, the idea was brought forward to the Trophy Committee under circumstances that are not the best. CH White Star’s Baron (Miseu), bred by Merrilee and Jeff Cirtwell, died this year due to toxic shock resulting from a spider bite. Merrilee’s sorrow in the loss of this dog ultimately resulted in the idea to memorialize one of our lost PONs each year at the specialty.

The inaugural trophy will be offered this year by Merrilee and Jeff in memory of Miseu. The trophy will be a small silver engraved plate that will be presented to the Best of Winners. A companion plate will also be presented to the owner of the deceased PON. It is the intention of the Trophy Committee that this memorial trophy concept be carried forward each year so that a newly lost PON can be memorialized at all our future specialties

Calling All Young PON People!

The Specialty Committee would like to personally invite all young people to attend the specialty this year. You don’t have to be a registered Junior Handler. The committee would just like to see more of our young people participating in our sport and cheering on the side lines. To whet the young folks appetite, we plan on giving every participating junior (age 18 and under) a special prize and ribbon – Win, Lose or Draw!!!

Those young people who attend as spectators will also receive a small goodie bag. If anyone has a junior who will be participating at the specialty, or a young person who plans to attend, please let us know.

Send information to: Deborah Harvey at yardchix@bellsouth.net and type “Junior goodies” into the subject line. Include their name, and note whether they will be showing as a junior handler, in conformation or are attending as a spectator.

If any of our juniors would like to register as an official Junior Handler and participate in the Specialty’s junior handling class, they will need to register as a Junior Handler with AKC.
